The 1913 history of Brown County lists “Joseph, Jr., living in Humboldt township” among the ten children of Joseph Basten and Elizabeth Bins, in its sketch of his brother John.
Not yet settled. The Wisconsin birth index lists a Joseph Basten born in Brown County on November 23, 1865. The online index does not show parents, and other Basten families lived nearby, so it is not yet confirmed as this Joseph; the family tree gives February 18, 1865. His death in Green Bay in 1924 also comes from the family tree.
