Not yet settled. The 1936 death certificate of her son Bishop Hawkins gives his mother’s maiden name as Mary Rawlins and her birthplace as “U.S.” The family tree has her as Mary Long, born in Georgia. Bishop himself gave the details on the certificate. The two names have not been reconciled.
