From the records
The 1860 census of Preble, near Green Bay, lists a household of Peter Bins, 60, a farmer with real estate worth $200; Faronica, 50; and Peter, 26, John, 22, Jacob, 21, Rosalia, 17, and Joseph, 13. All were born in Prussia. Peter’s age fits a birth in 1800, Faronica is probably Veronica, and John’s age fits the John Bins born in 1838 on this site. The 1860 census does not state relationships.
Not yet settled. Peter, Jacob and Rosalia are not in the family tree; they may be more of the couple’s children. The Joseph in the household is 13, while the family tree’s Joseph P. Bins was born in 1843 and would have been 16. Elizabeth, who would have been 21, is not in the household; an Elizabeth Bins, 22, was working as a servant in Green Bay that summer.
