The Social Security death file records a Wesley Doney born March 6, 1903, who died in March 1966 and whose number was issued in Washington. The birth date matches the family tree.
The Lewis County, Washington, marriage index lists his marriage to Julia Mocan twice, as “Wesley Wilson Douey” (a misreading of Doney) and as “Wesley W. Doney”, so his first name was Wesley. His daughter Margie’s Social Security record names her father as “Wilson W. Doney”, and the newspaper report of her wedding in Alaska calls him “Wilson Doney of Anchorage”, so he seems to have gone by Wilson.
Not yet settled. No record seen gives his birthplace. “Nancaimco, BC”, above, is probably Nanaimo, British Columbia, but no record confirms it. The day of his death (March 30) comes from the family tree only, and no record seen gives the place. The marriage date and place (April 16, 1929, Chehalis) were not shown in the index.
