Spelling. This page’s title uses Boucher, as do the Social Security records of Barbara’s sons, which give their mother’s maiden name as Irene Boucher. Barbara’s own page uses Boncher, the spelling of the Boncher families of Brown and Kewaunee counties in the Wisconsin indexes, who are not known to be related. In handwriting and in scanned text “n” and “u” are easily confused, so the spelling is not settled.
